Boy Scout Annual Meeting Lists Masters and Committee Appointments

The annual meeting outlines standing committees for Extension and Badge Property Sports and Finance with members including G. A. Bonspiel Prizes And Final Matches At Gilbert Plains

The final of the Burrows Trophy saw C B Steen defeat Geo H Vasbinder and his rink of 3 P Batty E J Mitchell and J M Borowski. Tom Warnock captured the Citizen Trophy with Archie Hoy as final opponent. Outsiders Pete Robertson and Geo Dow won the Sandy McDonald and Merchants events respectively. Winning rinks were Robertson with Robertson Fisher Hamilton and Geo Dow Brows Best Shaw all from Gilbert Plains.

Annual Art Exhibit at the Dauphin Armoury

The Dauphin Local Council of Women sponsors the third annual art exhibition at the Armoury on March 10 and 11. The Winnipeg Sketch Crab returns with local artists invited to submit original works only to fit reduced wall space. The event aims to foster interest in art and provide an opportunity to display youth and student work.

Successful Ball Held by U F M

The U F M hosted a Successful Ball featuring quadrilles schottis and minuets. The hall was decorated in gold and green with daffodil and tulip bouquets. Key organizers included B F Boughen Wm Beaven Rowan Durston and many committee members for purchasing refreshments and decorations. Music was provided by Claude Williams and his Rhythm Rascals.

Local Art Exhibition Opens With Special Youth Space

Mrs. Hugh Lys chairs the event and Arts and Letters committee. An admission fee of 10c for adults covers expenses while children enter free with an accompanying adult. A special area will showcase young artists and teachers along with their classes may visit for study and appreciation.

The Dauphin Theatre announces evening performances at 7.30 with admission 35 cents for adults and 25 cents for children. The Super Show runs 7.15 to 7.30 with adults 25 cents. Matinees Monday and Wednesday at 4.15, and Saturday and holidays at 2.30, admission 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for children.

Death of Wilfred Robson Casts Shadow Over Community

Tragic death of Wilfred Robson at age 43 after a period of illness ends his active civic and business life. Friends recall his generosity and leadership with Dauphin Curling Club and Dauphin Country Club. Funeral services were held at United Church Dauphin with Masonic rites and numerous local pallbearers. He leaves wife, children, and four brothers with mourners paying respects.

100 Enrolled for Agri Short Course in Dauphin

The 9th Annual Short Course and Judging Competition opened in Dauphin on Tuesday February 28 with about 100 students. Poultry judging demonstrated with four ladies classes and a separate poultry entry of twenty. Speakers included Dr J R Gunne and Joseph Racine with John Conner assisting. judging will continue into sheep and hogs and a banquet with prizes Friday at Town Hall ending in a dance.

Court of Appeal Rules Basaraba Case on Breach of Support

The Manitoba Court of Appeal upholds the trial court in finding the son breached the agreement to support his parents. The appeal overturns the cancellation of the agreement though, since it provides no cancellation clause. Costs are split, with trial costs to the respondents and disbursements to the appellant.
