Gilbert Plains Triumph Over Dauphin 3-1 In Big Crowd On Local Diamond

The Gilbert Plains team defeated the Dauphin aggregation 3 to 1 before the largest crowd in years. Phil Robertson pitched tightly, with Lee Johnston delivering a standout effort on the mound. Errors and base running misplays hampered the locals despite heavy hits, while Buie at third struggled as the visitors scored in the first and sixth innings.

Decoration Day Parade in Dauphin to honor local dead

A Dauphin Decoration Day parade will honor soldiers buried in Riverside cemetery. The procession includes Salvation Army band, veterans groups, magistrates and officials, school board members, Masons, trade unions, civic groups, children aid societies, and several auxiliary chapters. The march starts Front Street at 1 50 p.m. with a short service at the cemetery.

A special poll for railway employees and other qualified Dauphin electors will be open Friday 25 to Monday 27 June at the Town Hall. Voters must declare their inability to be present on election day and vote between 9 am and 8 pm.

A crowd attended the plowing event south of town Tuesday at Dudinst. Judges led by J. H. Kitely of the Extension Service declared Engine Gangs Ist as Geo Nichol Ochre River Hartt Part engine Massey Harris plow the top prize. Garden Social by St. Pauls Woman's Auxiliary at Judge Bonnycastle Residence

Members of St. Pauls Woman's Auxiliary hosted their annual garden social Tuesday at Judge Bonnycastle's grounds. Decorations of bunting and lanterns framed tea tables under the trees as MacMur ray's band played. Palmisty attracted guests who danced at times. Proceeds totaled about $70 with over 150 attendees.

Hawryluk v Jakimyshyn judgment for plaintiff specific performance and crops value. Romanczycz v Romanczycz lands dispute proceeding. The docket marks the longest civil list tried to date and will likely not adjourn before week’s end.

Veterans urged to help decorate and advocate pensions

Hesabinis Sr urges all town veterans to assist in a Decoration Day parade on Sunday June 27 and to obtain attestation certificates before land entry with the Dominion Lands Dept. He calls for a one thousand dollar salary increase for veterans’ pensions and asks all veterans to assemble at 1:20 PM at the town hall.
