Death by suicide of Sclater resident Wasyl Buardynuk

Wasyl Buardynuk, longtime Sclater resident, died by hanging on Sunday after a period of ill health and despondency. He was 4% years old and survived by his wife and several children.

Death of D. E. McDonald pioneer of Dauphin

D. E. McDonald aged 66 67 died at Netherhill Sask from a stroke of apoplexy on the 1th inst. He was born in Bruce County Ontario and homesteaded in Portage la Prairie district before farming on the Wilson River. He later moved to Netherhill and entered the implement business seven years ago. He served on Dauphin municipal council and helped in the Presbyterian church. He is survived by a widow two sons Edward Sturgis Sask and William Netherhill and two daughters Mrs Ed Campbell Dauphin and Miss Nita Netherhill. Sister Mrs D A Campbell Dauphin attended. Funeral from Presbyterian church to Riverside cemetery Wednesday with Rev S A Martin conducting service and bearers Rob Smith George Buchannon T T Malcolm Wm McIntosh Gavin Strang Thos Shaw.

Educational Picnic For Dauphin District Set At Wilson River

The Dauphin School Trustees Association hosts an educational basket picnic at Wilson River School on Friday the 29th. It aims to engage rural trustees and ratepayers in school affairs with the Minister of Education and Deputy Minister likely attending and possibly Dr. Stuart Fraser from the Provincial Board of Health. Activities include rural pupil education contests, a prize medal, school choruses, a ladies baseball match and various addresses. The event may become an annual district gathering in different locations.

Local society collects clothing for Secours National

The LODE News reports the Red Cross received 15 suits, 16 pairs of socks, $11, and fabric as part of a bale for Secours National. Donations welcome. sewing takes place Tuesdays and Fridays. A benefit concert was rescheduled to Tuesday evening July 8 with Scotch dances and bagpipes.
