Metro Kozak Appointed Inspector of Schools

Metro Kozak received the appointment as inspector of schools for the department of tary and high school duties. He has served two years as supervisor of elementary schools, taught in Winnipeg and Dauphin, and completed BA and BEd before becoming elementary supervisor in 1963. Fireworks Display Rescheduled for Saturday Evening

The postponed fireworks show at the DMCC grounds is back on for Saturday at 8 15 p m with the Dauphin Boys and Girls Band performing marches. Admission is 1 per family and the event aims to entertain both young and old.

Dauphin Air Cadet Annual Inspection Friday

Sodturning Planned for Dauphin Senior Citizens Housing Project

Friday June 18 marks the sod turning to commence construction of Dauphin's Senior Citizens' Housing on the east side of the Mackey residential school. The event at 3 PM invites public attendance. Freiheit Construction signed the contract for five double and 15 single motel style units.

Ratepayers List Near 3200 Endorsing By law Vote Totals

About 3200 ratepayers qualify to vote on the money by law referedum with an advance poll June 7 8 and 9 from 5 to 9 30 pm at the town hall ground floor. Friday June 11 polls run 9 am to 6 pm in the upstairs auditorium. Eligibility requires 21 years old and owner of town property valued at 400 or more. joint owners may both vote if the value is adequate. A simple majority of those voting approves the bylaw for the indoor swimming pool.

Dauphin Commercial Travellers elect new officers

Keith Gauer is named president of the Dauphin Commercial Travellers association for the year. Vic Ryhorthuk and Leahul serve as vice president and treasurer, Reg Meneer as secretary, with Bob Fisher as past president. Directors include John Doll Art Becker Abe Friesen and Ron Mulligan. The group plans a Travellers Parade during the Dauphin Agricultural Society summer fair.

Don Cossack Chorus Set for October Dauphin Concert

Dauphin plans a big fall event with the world renowned Don Cossack Chorus for a one night show on October 21 under the sponsorship of the Dauphin Kinsmen club. The chorus of 25 men directed by Nicholas Kostrakoff has drawn large audiences with its powerful yet refined singing.
