John Potoski chaired the meeting with John Conner outlining Junior Club Manitoba setup and stock judging training leading to the Dauphin short course in March. Theo Bodnar spoke on livestock. A class of fifteen formed for live stock judging. a junior seed rowers club for Sifton organized to grow registered Marquis wheat next year.

Pioneer Mrs James Kelly Dies in Detroit at 74
Mrs James Kelly a pioneer of the Dauphin district died at her Detroit home on Wednesday December 19 in her 75th year. She first came to Dauphin with her parents forty eight years ago then moved to Detroit in 1929. She leaves her husband five daughters and two sons plus a sister and a brother.

Annual Christmas Tree Concert at Winnipegosis
The United Church crowd gathered Friday for the Winnipegosis Sunday School annual Christmas Tree. Performances included Welcome by Owen Thorarinson, choir “Away in a Manger,” recitations by Edna Morris and Bob McAuley, duets by Ann May Morris with Evelyn Skinner and June Morris with Pills Rognvaldson, and a sketch “The Awakening” by Mrs Rognvaldson.

Shareholders of the Dauphin Co operative Elevator Association honored J. T. Taylor at their annual meeting for his role in increasing grain handling volumes. A banquet at the Royal Cafe on December 18 featured a presentation of an easy chair by President John Seale and remarks praising fair dealing and growing patron confidence. The gift was funded by member contributions.

Thieves Break Into Local Drug Store on South Main
Thieves broke the door glass at the south Main street drug store owned by A. G. Cowton and robbed merchandise and the cash register. Water pipes burst after they fled, flooding the premises. Police later recovered the cash register and some stolen items in the town wood yard.

Coleman Convicted of Riot Appeals Bail Released
J H Coleman convicted of riot and unlawful assembly during the Flin Flon strike. He appealed the verdict and was released on bail from Dauphin jail where held since November 15. Trial occurred in The Pas. two year penitentiary sentence. Bail posted by the Canadian Labour Defence League. Cecil Ross also freed on bail pending appeal.

Ashville Resident Is Buried on Thursday
Basil Koraim aged 63 was found dead Tuesday in a farm workshop outhouse. Coroner Dr. G W Rogers ruled death from natural causes with a chronic heart condition. He left a wife and thirteen children, seven at home, six married. Funeral held Thursday at Ashville. An obituary note and a film showing follow at the Dauphin Theatre featuring Alee in Wonderland.

Yorkton Terriers Open Season With 4-2 Win Over Dauphin
Yorkton Terriers defeated Dauphin 4-2 in an opening 1934-35 hockey fixture Friday night. Klym scored for Dauphin early, H Fraser tied it, then Yorkton pulled ahead and sealed the result with two overtime goals. Referee Ernie Bennett and judge Wally Markham officiated.
