The arena lists daily public skating sessions from Thursday January 3 to Wednesday January 9. General sessions run 2 to 4 pm and 4:15 to 5:15 pm with children allowed. adults skate 2 to 4 pm or 7 to 10 pm on select days. Saturday hours extend 2:30 to 4:30 pm.
Farmer Alfred Ovestrud Dies After Illness
Alfred Ovestrud a Spruce Creek farmer aged about 35 died at his home Wednesday afternoon from a spinal disease after a year of invalidism. He came to Dauphin twenty years ago from Orfordville Wisconsin and served in the American expeditionary force during the war. He married Marjorie Sainsbury twenty years ago and is survived by his wife three sons Eric Albert and Orval his brother Orrin at his bedside his mother and several sisters in the United States. Funeral services were held on Saturday with interment at Riverside cemetery.

Amendment to Code Requires Revolvers To Be Registered
Under the amended Canadian Criminal Code all revolvers and pistols must be registered with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police effective January 1. Firearms should be presented at the local RCMP detachment post office for inspection and correct registration, except bank revolvers registered through Winnipeg offices. Jean Harlow in the Girl from Missouri is the feature at the Dauphin Theatre Monday and Tuesday.

President Reviews Rotary Year at Meeting
Rev D H Telfer, president, reviews 1934 achievements at the Rotary luncheon. The club donated over 60 dollars to the Christmas cheer fund of the Citizens Welfare Association, and Dauphin Theatre provided free use for the event.

Dauphin town employee Joseph Shaw dies at 75
Joseph Shaw a longtime Dauphin town employee and Salvation Army worker died at General Hospital at noon Monday December 31 in his 76th year. Born in Manchester England November 5 1859 he lived there 20 years with the Manchester corporation ambulance service before moving to Dauphin Canada in 1906. He is survived by two daughters Mrs Alf Scarff and Mrs Harry Isherwood and two sisters in England. Funeral services will be held this afternoon January 3 at the Salvation Army barracks with burial at Riverside Cemetery.

Arrests and sentencing dominated the news as Harry Stefanuik pleaded guilty to break in at Canton's drug store and Cameron's department store with an 18 month hard labor term for each charge. The Rose Ball event organized by Lieut.
