Town businesses plan long Christmas weekend closures. Post office serves box holders only. front doors lock on Saturday and Sunday. Most establishments observe December 25 and 27 as holidays, with Monday shut for the holiday period.
Santa Claus surprised Henderson and Whitmore schoolchildren at the Lions Christmas party in Dauphin town hall. The event featured a radio broadcast prank, a pre show by Henderson and Whitmore pupils, clowns Bobo and Jojo, and dozens of local volunteers guiding a festive program.
The RCMP youth and police section in Dauphin and Winnipeg volunteers craft toys from old lumber for 600 worth items including wheelbarrows cribs wagons and a duck pull toy. Deliveries go to Manitoba and western Ontario centers and hospital wards. Next year already underway.
