Fire brigade battles chimney fires on cold days
Cold weather Monday and Tuesday sparked several chimney fires. The brigade answered three alarms between 5 30 and 6 o clock Monday afternoon from Mrs E Clark Fifth avenue NE and W J Easterbrook Sixth avenue NE both chimney fires. A third call at Hotel Dauphin involved burning rubbish fanned by a stiff breeze. A chimney fire at L S Smith Fourth avenue 8W occurred about 10 o'clock Tuesday evening with little damage.

Physical Training Supervisor Involved in Fatal Car Horse Collision
Geo Nick of Winnipeg struck and killed a horse near Fairville school about midnight Friday December 8. The car left the road, hit a telephone wire, and sustained about one hundred dollars in damage. Nick, involved in Dominion Provincial Youth Training district work in Sifton that evening, suffered minor injuries. The taxi car rented from Moore's Winnipeg company. The horse remained unclaimed as of Tuesday.

R.C.M. police report difficulty locating the owner of a $120 cash roll found under a Dauphin stockyards loading platform weeks ago. Rats had chewed the money and used bits of the paper to line nests under a wooden pile in the B. & B. era area. Bills ranged from $1 to $20.
