Lightning Fire Damages Store Mattress In Ethelbert
Freak lightning struck George Hryhorchuk's hardware and furniture store in Ethelbert Saturday evening. The bolt traveled from wiring through the roof to a light socket above a couch mattress. the bulb blew free and ignited the mattress. Hryhorchuk, who habitually leaves a night light on and checks the store last, discovered the fire before extensive damage occurred.

A 230 strong group of excursionists arrived in Dauphin at 2 30 pm on Friday hosting public welcome by Dauphinites. Dauphin municipality received three grants totaling 16850 from government sources in the last two months. Four thousand one hundred twenty five goes to main market roads with projects in Hal ley Spruce Creek Ward two and other areas. A three thousand dollar drainage grant will straighten five miles of Mink river east of Fishing River school. A nine thousand seven hundred twenty five flood damage grant funds bridge and culvert repairs and washouts as listed by district engineer Conn.
