Dauphin Hosts Farmers Visit And Local Notices

Canadian National Railways organized a farm and business visitor excursion to Dauphin, with leaders Dewitt Foster and H M Williams coordinating field work and immigration outreach. The issue also reports Dauphin Ladies win at Bowsman 17 to 16, births, marriages, school exam results, and a busy lake season with cottages, dances, and church choir events surrounding Gilbert Plains and Daly areas.

Fatal Lake Road Crash Claims Fireman in Car Turnover

W C Rae a fireman on the C N R was killed when an automobile driven by Eric Strome overturned and ditched on the lake road near Alfred Coombes farm Rae about 30 a returned soldier was trapped under the wreck Dr Gorton and Henry Espilen freed the men Rae died instantly from a crushed neck An inquest to be held Thursday Also a Presbyterian church meeting voted unanimously to call Rev P Duncan of Caron Sask with ratification set for Thursday and induction hoped for September

City Cafe Change of Ownership Notice

The City Cafe operated by Sherman Leon, Fong Ling, Fong Ming, Chiu Chen and Lung Ling changes hands. Sherman Leon sells his interest and all accounts must be rendered by August 23, 1920. The business continues under Fong Ling, Fong Ming, Chiu Chen and Lung Sing.

Harvest Progress Across District With Good Weather

The past two weeks brought favorable weather and widespread cutting progress. Reports cite good crops with minor rust and hail damage. late grain expected to turn out well. Local moves include staff additions at Dominion Lands office and transfers within forestry and election administration. a motor trip through Manitoba and Saskatchewan noted good roads and promising crops.
