Nay V Mikels son of William W and Amanda Mikels and grandson of Aunt Hannah Mikels died in New York City last Friday from pneumonia following influenza. Born Indianapolis June 9 1874 he pursued real estate in New York for twelve years. Survived by parents wife one brother Beryl and two sisters Mrs P McHenry of Chicago and Mrs W H Hathaway of Niles Michigan. Burial today in I L cemetery with mother and sisters present.

Mrs. Sam Hampton traveled to Dayton Ohio after learning her brother Harry Walton died from injuries after an elevator accident. Walton, a Dayton post office employee, was fatally injured last Friday, died Monday in hospital, and is survived by his wife and two daughters. Funeral services were held yesterday.

Darlington Indiana sent thirty four loads of hogs to Chicago the largest direct country shipment on record valued at about one hundred four thousand dollars. E R Gentry bought the entire string. D K Young prominent local grocer died at Colfax after a long illness. he had lived in Darlington and Colfax and served in retail meat and grocery businesses. He was born January 2 1846 near Lexington Kentucky and served as a railroader before farming and retail work. Funeral held at 2:30 Wednesday with interment in Plainview cemetery Colfax.

The Darlington community quickly responded to a linen request for hos pitals with 148 pieces donated to the Library on Friday. The donation included eighteen sheets and about 50 to 60 towels. Additional bundles have since been given and families are urged to contribute at once. No family is too needy to spare at least one item.
