Darlington to Build Electric Line to Crawfordsville

The State Tax Board approved bond issuance for Darlingtons electric line to Crawfordsville clearing the way for construction by August. A ten year contract to supply power from Crawfordsvilles municipal plant was signed, with poles and lines ordered and work to begin at once. The route extends east to Smartsburg, north to Garfield, east to Taylor corner, then north to the cement road and into town, with potential heavy railway use at Midway docks. The town favors cluster street lights but funding shortfalls may halt installation. locals urge finding financing to avoid losing the improvement push.
