Pneumonia Claims Prominent Darlington Man Doc Hiatt
Charles Elmer Hiatt known as Doc Hiatt dies at his Lester's Ford home after influenza developed into pneumonia. Born January 9, 1878 in Fulton County, he taught briefly before joining Dr. Overmeyer in Lester's Ford for eleven years. He married Pearl Cox in 1907 and is survived by wife and relatives. Interments were in the Odd Fellows cemetery after services in Lester's Ford and Crawfordsville.

Prominent Farmer William L. Taylor Dies at Home
William L. Taylor a farmer living two miles south of town died Wednesday morning after a stroke two years earlier and complications. He was born October 4 1850 in Coal Creek township and moved to the area eighteen years ago. Survived by his wife three brothers James Thomas and Henry all in the county and three half sisters in the West Parke county and Crawfordsville. Funeral at his home at 2 PM with Rev. Martin of the South Christian Church officiating. Interment at Greenlawn.

Death of Thomas W. Broadlick in Kokomo
Thomas W. Broadlick former Darlington resident and bakery operator who moved to Kokomo in 1887 died at his home in Kokomo on Saturday December 14 after six weeks of heart illness. Born September 29 1839 in Davenport England he married July 8 1863 and fathered twelve children. Survived by widow seven of his twelve offspring eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral Monday at 2 pm with burial in Crown Point cemetery Kokomo.
