Memorial Service Held for Byron C Cox in County Gym

A large crowd gathered Sunday afternoon in the county gym for a memorial service honoring Corporal Byron C. Cox who died in France. The program included prayers, songs by the Liberty quartet, readings, and remarks by Rev. M H Appleby and local officials, with messages of sympathy from Senator Harry New and Theodore Roosevelt.

Farewell Surprise For Dr O E Fink On Sendoff

Commodore Fink and wife hosted a Sunday farewell party for their son Dr O E Fink of Terre Haute as he heads to Greenville South Carolina to serve as captain of the Medical Corps. Reunion Time Here Seeks Annual Family Gatherings

Reunion season brings several annual events as two reunions plan to gather. The eigh th annual Saidla reunion is set for next Sunday in the Joshua Saidla grove two miles east of town. On September 1, the tenth annual Sunday reunion will be at the Bowers school house.

Miss Minerva Manning, a four month helper at The Herald, resigns for a vacation until school starts in September. The paper says it is short handed but hopes Herald will appear on time as usual.
