Union Firemen Form Local 2532 Amid Grievances
Danville firemen formed the Denville Professional Firefighters Local 2532 after officials' remarks, citing job security and working conditions as core issues. Members, about two thirds of the force, plan to receive a charter tomorrow. They criticize pay, communication with City Hall, and fear of layoffs while police see higher pay but turnover remains high. Firefighter leaders speak of morale and a desire for salary parity with comparable cities.
