Prison couple shouts through jail window daily routine
In Huntington, Leon and Paula Drummer, newlyweds, visit the Cabell County Jail each day. Paula, 21, walks six blocks to the jail by 9:30 a.m. with cigarettes and money, then yells through a window to her 23-year-old husband, Leon, held on probation violation. They talk through a glass panel during 1 to 3 p.m. visiting hours, often separated by noise and a crowd of other visiting couples. The couple, who just celebrated their ninth anniversary, continue the routine despite deputies’ warnings.
