Eaton to Build Major Plant in Greenville North Carolina
Eaton Corp plans a new plant in Greenville starting October with initial 200 heavy metal workers and 350 by end of 1975. The company had earlier set aside plans for a Smithfield factory while a September 18 Greenville announcement is planned. Labor will include welders assemblers and fabricators in Pitt County. The Smithfield chamber opposed Eaton’s move, calling it disruptive.
