Wild Partridge Becomes Man's Regular Companion
Chippy the partridge has ridden along with Gilda Gregory, a church sexton in Stafford Springs, for three years. The wild bird follows her around, perches on her truck, and only eats leaves, disappearing each fall and reappearing in warm months. Wildlife officials note such tame behavior is unusual but possible with human-friendly birds.
