Medical education study group named in Virginia

State Senator Landon Wyatt of Danville and Dr. William J. Hagood Jr. of Clover were named yesterday to a committee to study the future development of medical education in Virginia. The seven member group was named by the State Council of Higher Education. the 1923 General Assembly directed the study be completed by July 1, 1963. Also named were State Sen. Hutcherson of Lawrenceville Delegates Manns of Bowling Green French Slaughter of Culpeper and Nathan Hutcherson of Rocky Mount James Gilliam Jr. of Lynchburg Thomas C. Boushall of Richmond and Drs Mason Andrews Harry Bates Russell Buston John W. Davis Jr. Mack Harris C D B Smith and John C. Watson.

Three Area Yearbooks Win Virginia Awards

Three area school yearbooks earned Virginia awards in the Columbia Scholastic Press Association contest. Cavalier of George Washington High School won third place in printed yearbooks for seniors. Fieldcrest of Fieldale High School won first place in senior high schools 301-600 pupils. Judging considered production, reproduction methods, and school size with 27 Virginia winners overall.

W C Reagan Dies Ill For Several Months

William Clyde Reagan 41 of 721 Crescent Drive dies at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital after seven months illness. He was from Caswell County Locust Hill, lived in Reidsville 18 months, co owned Ideals Cab Company for nine years. Survived by wife Geraldine Simpson, two sons William Clyde Reagan Jr and Timothy Wade Reagan, daughter Amy Do, parents Mr. and Mrs. L T Reagan, one sister Martha Ann Reidsville, one brother D L Murdy of Smyrna. The Parrish case against Great American Insurance Company for 910.20 was moved to the December civil term due to a sick attorney. Judge A M Aiken overruled a defense motion to set aside a verdict awarding Josie Mae Myers 1250 for injuries from an April auto crash, with possible appeal indicated. Womack vs Shelton non-suit involves injuries from a guest fall on April 13. The Parrish suit seeks damages to appliances from a September 1, 1961 electrical storm under a homeowners policy.

Final Rites Held for Edward Seay

Final rites for Edward Wade Seay were conducted yesterday afternoon from Wren Yeatts Chapel by Rev. George Rumney and Dr. E W Gowin. Interment followed in Leemont Cemetery where the Improved Order of Red Men conducted graveside services.
