Ruling Overturning State's Phone Vulgarity Law Stands

The U S Supreme Court let stand a 4th Circuit ruling voiding Virginia's telephone vulgar language law. Virginia Attorney General Andrew Miller warned broader impact as similar laws exist in Congress and other states. The case arose from a Richmond dispute where a neighbor complained of Mrs Mary Walker using vulgar language during a telephone argument. Miller argued electronic home privacy via telephone presents a unique problem without parallel in other media.
