Argentine Leader Escapes Apparent Assassination Try
In Buenos Aires a bomb exploded at a reviewing stand five minutes after President Jorge Videla and his party left a military ceremony at Campo de Mayo. City Comptroller Says New York's Pothole Inspectors Gotta Go
New York City faces a push to end the 21 part time pothole inspectors under Comptroller Harrison J. Goldin. He calls the program hollow and wasteful and suggests replacing it with seven full time city employees while charging utility firms for inspections. The inspectors, paid by utilities, cost about 1730000 yearly, with a potential revenue of about 1 million if fees were charged per repaired hole.
