Ringgold Man Dies In Sunday Housefire
An elderly Ringgold Rt. 2 man, Clifton Womack, 73, died in a Sunday morning house fire on State Road 726. His wife Lilian escaped unharmed as Ringgold volunteers fought the blaze with help from Milton and Danville Lifesaving Crew. 30 firefighters used over 10,000 gallons of water in frigid 15 degree wind. The fire began near a wood heater and quickly consumed the six room frame residence. Womack, born Nov. 9, 1904, previously supervised Philadelphia apartments and retired to Ringgold. He is survived by four brothers and two sisters. funeral plans are pending.

Two Arrested in Danville Robbery Case on High Street
Danville police jailed James Knox and Ricky Bailey after a Friday robbery of Willie Spencer Terry Jr. on High Street. They allegedly took a wallet with 4.50 dollars and a 15 dollar check. Hearings set for Monday in Danville General District Court. In separate cases, Keith Loney was charged with grand larceny for stealing a Cadillac hubcap and jock worth 136.50 from J Terry Ley, with a preliminary hearing scheduled Monday.
