Navy to Discharge Nine Antiwar Sailors After Pacific Trip

Nine antiwar sailors aboard the carrier Constellation were ordered discharged as undesirables after refusing tasks. They were flown to the ship after seeking refuge in a church in San Diego. Capt. J D Ward held a non judicial mast and sentenced them aboard. Two were dropped at Subic Bay and seven remained in the brig as the carrier moved toward Tonkin operations.
