Hearing Held On Vepco Fuel Adjustment
A Virginia Electric & Power Co official testified that without the fuel adjustment clause the company would have been insolvent. The clause passes fluctuating fossil fuel costs to customers, and Vepco received 226 million from it in the year ended Feb 29, 1975, with a projected $149 million loss without it. The hearing before the State Corporation Commission aims to inform the public and consider data on fuel procurement costs.

He blamed South Vietnam’s collapse on leadership gaps, not U.S. aid, and quipped that Canadians call English refusals separatists while Americans call them economists.
