State Seeks FEA Grant for Time of Day Electric Pilot

Richmond AP The State Corporation Commission with Gov Mills Godwin backing seeks a 373635 federal grant to fund a 600000 two year pilot testing time of day pricing for electricity. Virginia Electric and Power Co will contribute 189175 with 56265 for SCC work directed by Ernest M Jordan Jr. expected federal reply in 4 to 6 weeks.

Hatfields And McCoys End Feud With Monument Dedication

Descendants from both families gathered in a rain soaked Black Berry Creek cemetery to dedicate a granite monument and bury the hatchet. Two ministers called for peace as candles and a buffet luncheon followed the ceremony. Old rivals shared memories, with descendants saying they bear no grudges and even doing favors for each other amid the long feud’s closure. The monument was donated by Leonard and Joseph McCoy, coal operators from Phelps, Kentucky.
