Two Louisa Landowners To Sue Board Tuesday
Two Louisa County landowners ask a civil jury and circuit judge to find the county supervisors acted illegally when they failed to approve zoning to permit strip mining in the Green Springs area. The 4-4 tie and Dr. Daniel’s refusal to break it halted the rezoning. The Niningers seek 300 acres rezoned from agricultural to commercial, arguing the board acted arbitrarily and unconstitutionally. The case flags broader opposition to Vermiculite mining by Grace & Co. in 3,000 acres in Green Springs, amid known historic estates and residents.
