War News From Saigon The Hue Attacks Persist

Large scale fighting continues in South Vietnam as Saigon marks celebrations. A blast at the Joint U S Public Affairs Office in Saigon injures a Marine guard when a fragmentary grenade explodes in the rear garage area. US demolitions say the device was fragments caused but not whether rigged. In the northeast near Saigon a force of about 400 enemy troops attack a militia command post and regional forces camp, later driven back with 81 enemy killed and five captives. In Hue three Vietnamese killed and three wounded by 122mm rockets hit the old citadel late Saturday night. Obstacles and official denials accompany each report as the war rages on.
