Albert Leaves Hospital After Injury In Hit And Run

Former U S House Speaker Carl Albert, 69, was released from McAlester General Hospital after treatment for minor cuts and bruises from a hit and run Saturday. Suspect Sampson Benjamin, 1, of McAlester, was arrested and booked on a complaint of leaving the scene. Albert was knocked to the street near his office as he stepped onto the curb.

Virginia and North Carolina Weather Outlook

Partly cloudy mild conditions prevail through Tuesday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms late Monday and again Tuesday over mountain areas. Highs reach the 80s to lower 90s in Virginia and North Carolina, with cooler readings along shores and higher elevations. House Set to Vote on 71.5 Billion Budget Bills
