Court agrees to review Lovings challenge to antimiscegenation laws
The Virginia Supreme Court agreed to hear the case of Richard and Mildred Loving, convicted in 1959 for violating anti miscegenation statutes. They argue the laws violate equal protection and the right to marry. The appeal follows prior federal and state rulings and a judge's denial of a motion to set aside the sentence.
