Endgame error costs three no trump contract in bridge

In a Chicago Tribune analysis of a three no trump by South, North dealt AK42 and K108Q1095 with West holding 10873 and East Q108542. After a 2NT 3NT line, South misplayed the endplay. West led clubs, East covered with king, South counted eight sure tricks and a ninth possible if hearts split. South's endplay attempt failed as West discarded incorrectly, allowing West to run clubs and then diamonds, leaving South with a loss despite a correct concept.
