Richmond Motor Vehicle Inspections Faulted In Check
A Richmond Times-Dispatch spot check of ten state inspection stations found wide variation in how a 1966 Ford Fairlane was evaluated. Five rejections and five passes across stations highlighted defective wiper blades, worn ball joints, brake cylinders, and headlight aim amid alleged inspection irregularities. The car was ultimately approved after a dealer check showed ball joints ok and a new wiper blade was installed at the final station.
