Spirit Of America In Rural Communities Visit Proves Point
ARCHBOLD OHIO AP The Freedom Train chose Archbold as its 13th stop in a 21 month bicentennial journey drawing 3200 residents. Despite rain, crowds waited up to six hours for a 21 minute ride through 10 cars of historical displays. The town, 420 square miles with 33,000 people, prides itself on GOP leanings and Mennonite roots. Local leaders and Max Smith organized parking, security and entertainment, turning Ickey’s bar into a festive hub. The event highlighted rural pride, patriotism, and support for the national celebration amid strong community bonds and civic volunteers.
