Lester Rowland Funeral Rites Slated Sunday
Funeral services for Lester Elijah Rowland 73 will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Sheva Church of Christ with interment in Zion Methodist Church cemetery. Born February 15 1894 in Pittsylvania County he died after a brief illness in Danville Memorial Hospital. He was a retired farmer and served as a member of Shewa Church of Christ. Survived by his wife and a large family including five daughters three sons and several stepchildren with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The body is at Colbert Funeral Home and the family at Gretna Route 1.

Ocie Monroe Davis 89 of Nathalie Rt 3 died Friday in a South Boston Hospital. A retired farmer, funeral services scheduled Sunday at 3 p.m. from Republican Grove Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Surviving include two daughters, a son, three sisters, a brother, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family will be at the Nathalie home of Mrs. Charlie D Younger. The body will be at Powell Funeral Home. Robert Carter Jr services were held Friday at Wrenn Yeatts Chapel and interment followed at Highland Burial Park. Pallbearers listed.
