Presbyterian Church Loses Major Court Fight in Georgia

The Georgia Supreme Court upheld property rights of two churches, Hull Presley and Eastern Heights, denying the main Presbyterian Church in the U.S. the ability to interfere. The ruling preserves church property separation from the parent body though allows disputes to be appealed, with the case seen as a potential national impact for linked Protestant groups. Dr. Marshall C. Dendy of Richmond, heading the parent church, called the decision a shock and planned an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
