In a military tribunal at Yagunde Cameroon a black Roman Catholic bishop Msgr Albert Ndongmo 44 was sentenced to death by firing squad for alleged role in a plot to assassinate President Ahmadou Ahidjo. Also sentenced were Gabriel Taheu and Celestin Takla to die. 73 others faced trial with 15 acquitted and 5 given life terms.
