Prisoner Incentive Pay Plan Delayed in North Carolina
RALEIGH AP The State Commission of Correction has postponed implementing an incentive pay plan for prisoners. The plan would pay 10 cents to $1 a day for work with five wage grades starting at 6 cents and rising to 25 50 and 75 cents before the top rate. Lee Bounds said a final recommendation is not ready and administrative tangles must be resolved, though officials expect the plan to be adopted later.
