Intruder Kills Three Children in Blackpool Ward

An intruder with a knife ran amok in Blackpool Victoria hospital early Thursday stabbing at least three children to death and wounding two nurses and another child. Police sealed off the town and searched the grounds with dogs as detectives and uniformed officers swarmed the scene. The victims were three children including a four year old boy. The two nurses were in serious condition undergoing emergency surgery. Detective chief superintendent Joe Mounsey led the manhunt from police headquarters in the hospital grounds.
