Grant to close stores amid restructuring and layoffs

The October AFDC family rolls climbed for the third straight month as unemployed fathers opted for welfare under the Supreme Court ruling. Lee J. Cobb a versatile stage and film actor famed for Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman died at his Woodland Hills home from an apparent heart attack. He was 64. Cobb rose to prominence on Broadway in 1946 and later performed the role on television in 1968.
