New York Stock Exchange slips into post Christmas lull gains dull
The market edged up slightly on light turnover as traders returned after Christmas. The Dow gained 1.93 to 954.25, with 1,566 issues traded. Volume fell to 9.67 million shares as gains led losses 659 to 659, amid holiday thinness and a closed London market. Reynolds Tobacco and Pan American were active movers amid mixed results and outlooks.
