Six Traffic Deaths Reported In Virginia Toll Reaches Forty Two
Six traffic deaths reported Saturday in Virginia raise the 1966 highway toll to 1 046 with 42 more than a year ago. Notable deaths include Billy Joe Bleggins 21 of Clinchport in Scott County from a crash on State Rt 653 near Duffield. Helen Mary Lois Suter 42 of Manassas injured fatally in a collision at U S 29 and Route 15 near Remington. Annie Louise Martin 39 of Great Falls who died when her car collided with another at U S 29 and Route 692 south of Charlottesville. The report notes the toll ahead of 1965's figures and lists other incidents in Fauquier and Albemarle counties.

Unemployment touched 3.7 percent as housing starts dropped to a January 1965 low and construction slowed. Biosatellite 1 mission failure and recovery concerns
NASA reports the Biosatellite 1 capsule remains in orbit with no recovery hope after retrorocket failure. Tracking shows the re entry vehicle and adapter separated on similar orbits while telemetry stayed active until now. Engineering corrections are planned ahead of Biosatellite 2 in March 1967 to address the failure and continue biology space exploration questions.
