Pioneer satellite ready to launch as Gemini 6 returns
Sun-orbiting Pioneer spacecraft stands on Cape Kennedy pad awaiting launch between 1 45 and 2 15 a m EST. The 140 pound instrument laden satellite will study interplanetary space, solar wind and magnetic fields while carrying data for later retrieval.
