Duke to Build 5.3 Million Medical Center and Library
Duke University plans a five story medical communications center and library named the Seeley G. Mudd Building. The $5.3 million facility will expand Duke's medical and health sciences complex with 91 000 square feet of space and 25 000 unfinished for future growth. A $1.5 million gift funds part of the project from the Seeley G. Mudd Fund. The building rises on a parking lot site between the Bell Building and Nanaline H. Duke Building with bids issued and construction expected to start in February and take about two years. The project aims to ease space shortages for thousands of faculty and learners across multiple health fields.
