Nader level tires safety probes demand congressional action
Ralph Nader charged that federal tire safety standards are not enforced by the government and urged Senator Gaylord Nelson to probe the National Highway Safety Bureau. He named seven manufacturers including Firestone, Goodyear, Goodrich, General, Armstrong, Mohawk, and U S Tire as producing tires failing safety tests.
