At 1 25 p m a Meadow View Lime and Stone Co spokesman said Wagner planned a flight to Galax likely for pleasure though he used his plane for business. The small craft plunged into a field, burst into flames, and burned except for tail and one wing. Johnson and Hulton survived but recall nothing of escape.
