A seven woman five man jury deliberated 51 hours over 84 days and found the Harrises guilty of two kidnappings one robbery and two car thefts. Two More Blacks Killed In South Africa Rioting

Police shot and killed two blacks Monday during clashes with rampaging youths in Alexandra and surrounding townships near Johannesburg. Violence followed a weekend in Soweto as students protested detentions and apartheid policies, with several fatalities reported and police enforcing barricades.

Investigator Says Bus Train Wreck Was Avoidable

Stratton Nebraska report says investigator Robert E Kitzmiller of Lincoln called the Sunday school bus train collision probably avoidable as a Burlington Northern freight train at 50 to 60 mph crossed a clear day crossing. The pastor Rev Thomas B Nerren his wife and six kids perished. one child died later and others were injured. Funeral plans for three Scarrow children were set for Wednesday.
