New Showcase of Asian Art at San Francisco Museum
M H de Young Museum experts and volunteers restore and catalog a 5000 piece Oriental art collection donated by Avery Brundage. A $2.725 million bond funded a new wing nearly doubling the museum size, opening in June to house four millennia of pieces arranged by region from China to Persia. Brundage says the display will educate and bridge the Bay Area to Oriental culture.
