Chicago markets report wheat corn and oats prices. Champaign Illinois reports four inches of snow melting. Clinton Illinois notes several inches of snow and cold conditions. Creelsburg North Dakota reports the Ward brothers murdered and their remains being sent to Chicago.
Columbus reports Governor Foster's father aged 86 was stricken with paralysis at Fostoria and is reported dying tonight as the Governor and family travel to the scene.
Snow storm in the mountains continues unabated causing widespread train delays. All trains are delayed and every available snow plow is in service to prevent a serious blockade.
A man, giving the name John A. Haines and Chicago as his residence, believed to be a railroad employee, attempted to take laudanum at Hurst's hotel in St. Louis. He is now in the city hospital under care.
Fifty strikers at the Co operative Store company in Cleveland returned to work today, bowing to company demands. The move is expected to end the strike locally, though potential friction with the Moulder's Union remains due to returning workers.
Tornado devastation across Mississippi and Georgia reported with high death and injury figures. In central Georgia four counties show twenty deaths and over fifty wounded. Beauregard Mississippi registers thirty one dead and fifty nine injured. nearby Wesson reports twenty two killed and one hundred fifty wounded.

The visit of Mr Layng general superintendent of the Northwestern Ry to Huron is seen as a move to ease the freight blockade on the Dakota Central Ry.
