Dumbarton Bridge financing plan approved by state Toll Bridge Authority
Sacramento approves a $103 million loan plan to replace the Dumbarton Bridge. At a meeting the Toll Bridge Authority accepted the financing proposal from Transportation Director Adnana Gianturco and authorized revenue bonds and reserves. Construction will involve over-water approach spans and channel spans, costing $53 million and taking about three years to finish. The new 1.6 mile bridge will have four traffic lanes, a bicycle lane, and shoulders, replacing the 2 lane span. The project follows recent lawsuits and Coast Guard permit clearances.
