Japanese scientist tests strontium elimination in self study
TOKYO AP A Japanese atomic scientist Dr Toshio Aoki of the Mamie Energy Research Institute ingested a small dose of radioactive strontium on August 16 as a human test. He estimated about 0.1 percent remains in his body and expects it to stay until late next year. Readings show strontium lodged in the bones near the shoulder hip and spine.

AF Transport Plane Crashes in California
An Air Force transport plane with six crew members crashed on Oat Mountain near Oxnard. At least three survivors were reported, one of whom walked about five miles to the Nike missile base at Chatsworth Reservoir to report the crash.
