Three Die In Weekend Highway Crashes Across Alameda County
Three Alameda county residents died in highway accidents over the weekend. Mrs. Charlotte Martin, 60, of Layward, was struck while crossing the Niles highway near Decoto. Alfred J. Crane, 54, of San Leandro, died when his car hit a power pole east of Lodi. Ernest Mattos, 33, of Hayward, perished in a head on collision south of Willows. A fourth person, Mura Mac Conk, 48, of San Leandro, was critically injured as a passenger in Crane's car. The Danville highway wreck near Castle Peak road injured seven, including B. Morse, 90, of Hayward, and her husband Arthur, 32, plus Larry Morse and Myrtle Blake with various injuries. The incidents are under highway patrol review.

Southern Alimyda County Fair and Dance Festival Opens
The second annual Southern Alimyda County Harm Thon and Industry Show starts Sept. 28 for four days. About 300 costumed dancers from California converge for a six hour native dance program on Sunday, October 1, at Toward Union High School’s Farm, Home and Industry show site. Deputies Nab Burglar At Tennyson Road Market
